Vietnamese Spring Rolls

Hello ! This week I will introduced to you guys Vietnamese Spring Rolls . Vietnamese spring rolls are typically wrapped with a rice paper. Theres a variety of chopped vegetables and can be made with pork, shrimp, or leaner meats such as chicken or turkey. Usually, you would dip the spring rolls into the vietnamese fish sauce or wrap your spring rolls with fresh lettuce leaves and other aromatic herbs such as mint leaves (my favorite). Either way, they are deeply satisfying.

Green Papaya Salad ^___^

yum yum ! This traditional vietnamese papaya salad is a simple combination of shredded green papaya, coarsely with basil, shrimp, and add on to it with spicy fish sauce. The tartness of the dressing brings out the smoky, salty flavors of the shrimp and the peanuts add crunch and nuttiness. I definitely think this is one of the best appetizer out there. If you haven't try this yet I recommend you do so. Hale Vietnam which located on 12th ave of kaimuki served one of the best vietnamese papaya salad out there. :)

Hainan Chicken Rice

A little introduction about Hainan Chicken Rice, it is originated from a small island of Hainan in Vietnam. It's popularity can be on menus of vietnamese restaurants around the world. The important ingredient in this dish is definitely the chicken and the sauce. You would simply eat this with jasmine rice but I prefer to eat it with brown rice. I love the sauce for this dish. The sauce includes ginger, fish sauce, thai soy sauce and soybean. So goood!!!!!Youll be amazed how simple this dish look with such an amazing taste.

I've decided to take a little break from all the food and talk about a refreshment that is really popular among the Vietnamese community. Hot coffee is preferred in the morning, while iced coffee is saved for the heat later in the day. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee is a combination of concentrated coffee brew, condensed milk, and ice. Simple but yet tasty!!!!. You do not need to add sugar to sweetened the coffee.
This is a picture of how you would brew the coffee.
Here is your final result. Enjoy :)))

Vietnamese Won-Ton Noodle Soup (Mi Hoanh Thanh)

Hello everyone :) !!!!
The weather has been kind of chilly and rainy here in Hawaii. This make me gravitates toward a hot soup dish which is the Vietnamese Won-Ton Noodle Soup. This soup is super flavorful and come in with a variety of ingredients. It has hearty meat-filled dumplings, savory roast pork, succulent shrimp, leafy greens, oodles of egg noodles, sprigs of fresh herbs and a sautéed garlic topping to add the right amount of spice. Won-ton soup is one of my favorite soup to have when I'm feeling a little under weather.

Banh Mi: Vietnamese Style Sandwich

Hello, How's everyone doing? This week I would like to introduce you to Banh Mi. Banh Mi is a Vietnamese Style Sandwich that is almost as popular as Pho.It seems so simple (Baquette, meat, pickled veggies), but the variation in quality, even from the same restaurants will leave you mind blowing. There are a lot of different Vietnamese places that sell Banh Mi. My favorite place to eat Banh Mi is Ba Le . They have one of the best sandwiches there!!!!!!!!! I had the grilled pork and meat ball banh mi. The grilled pork was flavorful, moist, lean with a nice char on the side. The meatball were super tasty as well. Picked radish and carrots with slices of cucumber topped things off. I recommended you all going to Ba Le to get one of the best Vietnamese sandwiches.

This is the meat ball banh mi. Yummers!

PHO-TASTIC

Hello everyone! This week I'm introducing to you one of the most well known Vietnamese food of all time. That's right. It's PHO :). I'm sure everyone have try Pho before if you didn't then you are missing out big time.
The most popular Pho is the beef broth Pho.It tastes like pure deliciousness.
It's not spicy unless you want it that way - you get to add to the soup once it's served - you get a plate of sprouts and thai basil and chiles which you add to your soup depending on your taste. I recommend the basil. It usually comes with different types of beef cuts by order, but you can get it with broth and noodles only. If you get it from a place that does mainly Pho, it will be delicious. I recommend going to Hale Vietnam, it's located on 12th Avenue of Waialae right next to Via Gelato (which is perfect to eat after a bowl of yummy pho). Hale Vietnam served one of the best pho in Hawaii, although it's number 1 in my book. My mom homemade Pho will always be first in my taste ^___^
You can also get the chicken Pho if you're not a fan of beef. They also have vegetarian pho for all you vegetarian out there :).
This is a picture of the Chicken Pho and Vegetarian Pho. ONO!!!!!
